In honor of my faith's winter celebration, (Channukah) I will be posting every day for 8 days. This is the first day of Channuakah, so HAPPY CHANNUKAH, EVERYONE! Since my parents are Christians....we celebrated Christmas, too. Yep....that's what the way it is. Anywho, on Christmas Eve, we had my dad's side of the family over to our small attic...err...house. It was nice to see all my family, but I have to say I am tired of answering the question, "so, how's college?" At the Christmas Eve service, my brother (the skateboard punk) was Gabriel in the re-enactment Jesus' birth. (minus the whole labor thing.) He was up their fighting laughter the entire time. Apparently Mary and Joseph were making faces at him when his back was turned to the congregation. This explains why he is getting a D in theatre 1 at my high school. Just because I am happy with what I received from the parental units, I am going to list off my stuff.
25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee soundtrack
Monty Python's SPAMALOT soundtrack
A large picture of New York City, my future home.
Phantom of the Opera special 2 disc edition
A box set of Classic American musicals including: Guys and Dolls, Fiddler on the Roof (which I watched last night to bring in Channukah), and West Side Story
Black and Decker coffee maker that makes one decently-sized thermos of coffee.
And on Black Tuesday (or is it Thursday...and should I be saying African American as not to upset Andrew Kightlinger?), I got a whole bunch of new clothes.
Margaret Cho's DVD Assassin. (Bri, you and I need to watch this together. I know you will love her. She's an Asian, gay and women's rights activist.)
Margaret Cho's book I Choose to Stay and Fight
Margaret Cho's CD I'm the One That I Want.
Anywho, living at home is quite stressful for me. For those of you who don't know my family, they are like me: FUCKING LOUD! It has been getting to me. They yell and argue about so much stupid shit. For example, my parents were yelling about how many chairs to put in the living room for people to sit in. I guess dorm life has made my ears more sensitive to the yelling. It's not just when they are arguing that they are loud, it's when they are just talking to each other at the supper table. My mom thinks she has to be so damn loud so we'll listen to her, but it just pisses me off. Don't get me wrong, I love my family, but I can't wait to move back on campus. Here's something awkward. My dad, the homophobic close-minded democrat (Yes, I said democrat.) told me he was in the mood for comedy so he told me to put my Margaret Cho DVD in. (not knowing what she stood for.) So, it was my dad and I watching the DVD. It got even more awkward when Margaret was talking about how Laura Bush's pussy probably tastes like Lysol. Needless to say, my dad didn't laugh the entire time. This probably reinforces his mindset of thinking I am gay even more. Oh well, let him wonder.
On that note, I just wanted to say how much I miss all of my Augie friends. Your xanga posts are the only way I am able to keep in touch with some of your lives. So, when you see me back on campus, expect to get a lot of big hugs from me. I miss you guys (or girls for you fellow feminists out there.) You are my family and I wanted to say that I love each and every one of you so much. Happy day one of Channukah!
[Edited at 7:40AM] Another item of business is the grades I received for first semester. I was worrying a lot about how I would be doing and I checked yesterday and found out that I ended up with a 3.22 GPA! I am so friggin' excited. I have to take another math class, though. Damn Quantitative Reasoning!

Word o' the week: Fucked
So, I remember only yesterday talking about how easy finals week was for me. Oh, how I was wrong. Okay, so here was the plan: I was going to write my english paper all-day monday. Tuesday was going to be the day that I wrote my acting paper. Then, they would both be done by their due dates on Wednesday. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. I forgot to factor in the unknown variable x. In this case, x = videogames, friends, and random errands. So, now, it is 6:33AM Tuesday morning, and I just got done re-reading the play I am to write my paper on, and I still have no idea what I want to write about. The word of the week for me is "fucked." Let's say it together, class. "Fucked."
Not only do I have a shit-ton of work to do, but I have very little time to do it in. I realized at about 4AM that the next time I will be able to sleep will be Wednesday night. Yes, I will be up for 48+ hours in a row in order to get my shit done. I knew I shouldn't have taken yesterday off from homework and papers. Here's my remaining schedule:
6:36AM-7:15AM Figure out a topic for my paper (hopefully)
7:15AM-8AM Eat breakfast
8AM-10AM Continue working on paper and finish paperwork for makeup final
10AM-12:30/1PMish Stage Makeup Final
12:30PMish-2pm work on papers
2PM-? Rehearse final acting scene
4PM Work final acting scene with Jules
5PM Eat
5:45PMish-12pm (Wed) Finish papers 12pm English paper due 1pm Acting paper due
1pm-? Acting Final
??? Clean up room and move some things home to sleep.
I dont' know if I should be okay with this schedule, but I guess I have no choice. Moral of this story: Don't procrastinate during finals week. It's like being ass-raped by a sharp stick with no lube. Don't forget, class. This week's "word o' the week" is: fucked. Let's say it together, class. Fucked

*sighs*
Hello all. Long time no post. Life has been so damn busy lately. (And there isn't even a show going on right now!) Well, I take that back. There is a show going on...kinda. Since I am stage managing Pirates of Penzance, I have been busy working on damn contact lists and such. We have had two production meetings so far, and it's looking like it's going to be a really cool set. As many of you know, this is finals week. In fact, I just got done being ass-raped by the quantitative reasoning test. I am pass/failing this class, so no matter how bad I do, it won't affect my GPA. Thank goodness. Here's what I have left to do before Wednesday:
1. Re-read Translations and Burn This to see what I want to write my english paper on.
2. Write my 5-7 page English research paper related to one of the plays in #1
3. Create my final scene paperwork for Acting 1.
4. Rehearse my final scene for performance on the 14th.
5. Perform scene on the 14th.
6. Create my paperwork for my final stage makeup project and study for final quiz on 13th.
7. Write my 5 page final acting paper for the 14th.
As you can see, I am pretty busy. I haven't even had time to see Jen that much. I feel bad because I don't do it intentionally. I know she has finals and such too, so I hope she understands. I think our relationship is going really well, so that's exciting. We are swiftly approaching our 1 month. (14th) Anyway, I am really tired as I was up quite late last night. I think I may just cuddle up on my bed and go back to sleep, or maybe I'll just head over to the commons and eat some delicious food. In any case, I hope life is good for all of you.
