8 in 48 Festival

Wow, it's been an entire week since the 8 in 48 festival started, and I still can't stop thinking about it. It was the most amazingly fun thing I have done in a long time. Here's what it entailed:
3:00-5:00PM Auditions for Roles
5:00-7:00PM Dinner Break
6:00 Audition Results Posted
7:00-12:00AM Rehearsals
9:30-10:00PM First Mainstage Rehearsal
----NEW DAY-----------------
9:00-11:00AM Rehearsal
11:00-12:00PM Lunch Break
12:00-2:30PM Rehearsal
2:30-3:00PM Final Mainstage Rehearsal
3:00-4:30PM Rehearsal
4:30-6:30PM Cue-to-Cue on Mainstage
6:30-7:00PM Short Dinner Break
7:30PM Performance

As you can see, it was very busy. If you are wondering, I did get a role. I was excited. I played Truman Capote in "Harper Lee's Husband," the winning script of the festival. The play was about Harper Lee, the author of To Kill a Mockingbird. I was the narrator, and best friend of Harper Lee. I was telling the audience about Harper Lee's husband, Quito. Quito was a blow-up sex doll. It was a hilarious show. I will never forget it, it was my first Augustana Theatre Company experience.

Drammies was last night. I didn't cry, which was strange. It was a lot of fun, though. The talent show turned out well. However, we forgot someone's act, which makes me feel bad. They seem to be okay with it, however. I also received Senior Drama Student of the Year. That was completely unexpected. I figured someone who did more shows would get it. I am still shocked, but honored. Tonight was Taste of Suite, which was a total success. There were some Washington people there, which was nice. I hope Claco and Suite will develop a nice friendship.

Also, there was a friend who was offended by some things that happened today. I believe that she has a right to feel offended, but when she is apologized to, she needs to accept it. Some people like to make life so difficult for themselves. Think about what you said last night at Drammies. It was heartfelt and sincere, however today you were acting out of anger. You said somethings that were untrue. You overacted to what was done. Think about it, you had nothing to do with what was left on the voice mail. This person that was called knew it wasn't you. Did you think he was going to hold it against you? I doubt he would. I don't know him, but I doubt he would hold it against you when you didn't even have a hand in it. If you still feel as if it was the most terrible thing someone could have done, just think about how much stress you are causing yourself by holding anger against people who have been your friends this year. Don't be petty, and "Don't burn bridges", in the words of Mr. Pope. That is all I have to say to you right now. The rest is up to you.
